Why do so many people download V0 over 320?

Wanting to brag about your $10,000 pair of headphones that (according to you) when used with FLAC produce sounds not even us mortals could imagine? Or just wanting to find new tunes? In here bud!

The best way to see the differences between V0 and 320 is to watch it playback in winamp. It will display the bitrate of the song while it is playing.

Constant Bit Rate (CBR) is an encode where the audio is compressed in the same bit rate no matter whether the song has music playing or not.

Variable Bit Rate (VBR) is an encode where only the audio is compressed. It doesn't encode music where there is none (In the cases where music suddenly stops or intentionally drops in levels) to encode and adds to ranges/gets rid of other ranges that are are deaf to most ears.

I choose to download V0/V2 songs due to the size and quality, 320 offers me no additional value. If they were maybe able to add encoded captioned lyrics into it (like mkv files have subtitles encoded into them)...then yes, I'd download 320 instead of V0.

hey bob, there are lyrics addons with winamp, works with lrc files i believe. Minilyrics is one example.
I also like the visual representation you can have of levels encoded, like foobar2000 has :mg:
If you have a bit of a trained eye you can spot 320 transcodes that way.
